Jarrad Martyn was inspired by the underwater robot, ROV SuBastian, diving on unknown waters that
were livestreamed. He watched many dives working remotely to capture the essence of the robot at
work during the Mariana Back-Arc Expedition in 2016. Glowing bioluminescent anemones disappear
into the darkness of the Ocean, which has been overlaid with star-scapes from the Milky Way Galaxy.
The ROV slips in between a planetary rover and underwater explorer, demonstrating the ethereal
nature of the sea.
