FLIPPER’S PLAYGROUND
Western Australia
“The power of the ocean—its color, vibrancy, life, and dynamic energy.
E昀昀ortlessly utilizing their hydrodynamics for an epic surf, the dolphins
create a playful and infectious vibe. The vivid textures and patterns
demand attention, yet they also evoke a sense of calm with peaceful blue
hues and the soft, 昀氀u昀昀y whites of the whitewash.”

BEYOND THE FRAME
Photographer Michael Haluwana captured this stunning shot in Cape
Naturaliste, while travelling through Western Australia to 昀椀lm the ocean
and its wildlife.
The Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park in Western
Australia stretches over 120 kilometers between Cape
Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin. The park is recognized as
a biodiversity hotspot, home to many species of plants and
animals – some of which are found nowhere else on Earth.
The Cape to Cape Track is a trail within the park that
follows the coast and from which marine species such as
humpback whales or bottlenose dolphins can be spotted.
Dolphins can be found all around the world. There are 36
species of marine dolphins. One of them, the bottlenose
dolphin, is among the only species (alongside apes and
humans) to have the ability to recognize themselves in
a mirror. Scientists consider this a testament to their
intelligence.
