Wildlife photographer Nathan Moine captured this shot at the Tanjung Puting
National Park on the island of Borneo, during a workshop led by his friend
Donal Boyd. He says “this particular moment was unforgettable – the 昀椀rst male
[he] spotted climbed up a tree and paused there for a few moments, giving [him]
the perfect opportunity to photograph him”, adding that “his majestic pose
made him look every bit like the true king of the jungle.” Nathan remembers
that “what fascinated [him] the most was the orangutan’s incredible strength
and agility in the tree.”
