Catapu is proud to be a local conservation
partner with Gorongosa National Park. Like our
friends at Gorongosa, we believe in combining
conservation with community support.
We are a 25,000 hectare sustainable forestry reserve located
in nearby Cheringoma. In addition to over 280 indigenous
tree species, Catapu has 120 bird species, and plentiful
wildlife diversity.
At Catapu, we practice environmentally responsible commercial
forestry, beekeeping, and tourism.
We provide employment for 100 local workers and training to
many more in agriculture, apiculture, and reforestation skills.
Our beautifully crafted furniture and wooden artefacts are sold
locally in Mozambique. In Europe, our rustic, live-edge tables
and desktops are sold by Rob Wilson of Dalmann UK.
