DISCOVER EARTH
At Discover Earth, curating an exhibition like Through The Lens
is never just about choosing beautiful images. It’s about choosing
images that make us feel something. A photo can stop us in our
tracks, spark a memory, or make us see the world di昀昀erently. That’s
the kind of photography we look for, the kind that connects us to
nature, to people, and to something bigger than ourselves.
I’ve always believed that photography has a unique power. Unlike
words, it doesn’t need translation. A single image can cross cultures,
generations, and backgrounds, speaking to each of us in a personal
way. When we put together this exhibition, we wanted to create that
kind of experience - one where every visitor, no matter where they
come from, can 昀椀nd a moment that resonates with them.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the
photographers. They are the real storytellers. They travel, explore,
wait for hours (sometimes days) for the right light, the right
movement, the right feeling to unfold in front of their lens. Their
dedication allows us to see places we may never visit and witness
moments we would otherwise miss. More importantly, their work
reminds us how precious and fragile biodiversity is.
Since 2013, Discover Earth has been about more than just sharing
images. It has been about creating a deeper connection between
people and the world around them. Because when we truly see the
beauty of our planet, we are more likely to protect it.
So now that you’ve turned these pages, take a moment. Let these
photos stay with you. Let them remind you of what you felt, what
you noticed, and maybe even what you want to do next. Because in
the end, that’s what really matters.
Sometimes, all it takes is a glimpse to remind us of the future we still
have the power to shape.
