SPAIN
Black kites are found in many places around the world,
with migratory populations splitting their time between
Europe and northern Asia in the summer, and sub-Saharan Africa and southern Asia in the winter. They are
present year-round in other places including India, Japan
and Australia.
This shot was captured in the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park, located just an hour away from the city of Madrid. The park is home to 45% of Spain’s fauna, including
many species of mammals, birds and reptiles – such as the
Iberian wolf as well as golden eagles and black vultures.
